TECH SUPPORT / SYSTEM DESIGN


OVERVIEW:
Industrial computer manufacturer seeking a Computer Support Technician. Candidates must have exceptional phone tech support skills. Must be able identify, research, and resolve technical problems quickly and efficiently.
  • Location: Border of Irvine and Tustin (55/5FW)
  • Type: Full Time
  • Pay: Starts at $20/hr. Depends on performance, experience and expertise
  • Hours: 8:00AM - 4:30PM

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Help desk, answering tech-support phone calls
  • Answering emails
  • Pre-sales technical consulting
  • RMAs (logistics and troubleshooting)
  • Design computer servers per customers specifications

EXPECTED QUALITIES:
  • Willing to work hard (this is not a laid-back job).
  • Be Coachable and willing to accept constructive criticism
  • Quick learner with good memory and willing to learn a lot
  • Ability to adapt and switch from a slow to fast paced environment
  • Reliable (both Attendance and Punctuality)
  • Multitasking, able to handle frequent interruptions and shifting priorities
  • Pleasant, confident voice and fluent English

REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • Able to communicate professionally by phone, email, and face-to-face interaction.
  • Proficient in finding solutions and answers online. Excellent research skills
  • Have solid knowledge and understanding of computer hardware
  • Strong self-organizer with the ability to maintain paperwork and workload at all times

IDEAL SKILLS:
  • Linux Command Line
  • Windows Server
  • Virtualization environment
  • Various RAID level
  • Website Support
Assuming the raw skills are present, you'll gain additional training.

NOTES:
  • This is a customer service job. This is not a quiet/analytical sysadmin position on the back, nor is it a laid-back job.
